AIM Defence’s Fractl Tactical Directed Energy Laser has taken out first place at an international Counter Drone Sandbox in Canada netting a $1 million dollar prize.

AIM Defence has beaten 15 anti-drone technology local and international companies to win CA$1 million (A$1.1 million) dollars from the Canadian Army.

During a recent counter-drone demonstration event, Canada became the fifth NATO country to test above-the-horizon lasers to defeat drone threats without a mountain or other geographic backdrop to stop the laser.

A four-week ‘Sandbox’ at CFB Suffield that hosts innovators from five allied countries to demonstrate the latest advances in counter drone technology concludes Friday.
